How To Save Your Time and Money By Using a GPS

By Mary Anne Miller

Advanced technology has made the GPS almost a standard feature in most American cars, they're cheap and stuffed with nice features. Though their first function is navigation the GPS can be used cleverly to economise on gas and aid you in saving money.

This is particularly so for sales reps or sales delivery employees who spend much of their work day on the road. A high quality GPS like the Garmin GPS, is it's a tiny compact unit that incorporates advanced multi- location storage facilities. This suggests that if you have ten sales deliveries or 5 errands to run you can plan your routes.

Each day can be organized in the most efficient way possible using the GPS. You can put in up to 10 different location addresses and the device will save them and prepare them in visiting order. You can replace these 10 with 10 more or save the original 10 if they are addresses that you visit frequently.

You can easily read the map and follow directions on the GPS. Modern screens are always bright and clear, the majority are lit from the back so you can read in bright sunlight and are not distracted from driving. Voice prompts are given wit turn by turn directions and the streets are declared clearly by name. Complicated highway interchanges are made straightforward "the Garmin 1490lmt gives you lane aid and shows the junction signs so you never miss your exit.

The GPS will also alert you to traffic events on your scheduled route. If you have ever had to pass some time in a traffic snarl up on the freeway you know how time intensive and annoying that can be with a GPS such gas and time wasting is a thing of the past. Prior to arriving at the slow down you can exit the highway and your GPS will give you an alternative route. You may arrive at your destination in tons of time!
