Newest Smartphones: Competing Brands and Systems

By James Bob

The latest smartphones pack stronger specs with processing speeds analogous to those of desktops and Computers produced nearly ten years ago. Like the ensuing battle between Windows and Mac, mobile operating systems on smartphones today are being rivaled by Google Android and Apple iOS. The second system is available exclusively to the iPhone 4S, one of the premiere smartphones which has set a considerable number of standards in the business. The Android, on the other hand, powers all the remainder of the smartphones from various makers such as Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, and HTC.

While the iPhone series of smartphones by Apple potentially controls this arena, other mobile makers are catching up especially now the Android operating software reached a slightly more mature stage of development. This maturity somehow leveled the field for other producers of the most recent smartphones to challenge against the number 1 brand.

Released in November 2011, the Universe Nexus by Samsung was developed thru a cooperation with Google. It is the third in the Nexus series and has introduced major updates matched against its predecessors. As one of the newest smartphones, the Universe Nexus draws energy from a dual-core processor that has become the standard in this industry. This smartphone comes preinstalled with the newest Android OS called the Ice Cream Sandwich.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S, AKA Xperia 13, is another competing product in the long listing of latest smartphones. This smartphone sports one of the speediest processors, the Scorpion Snapdragon CPU running at 1.4 GHz, enhanced by the highly capable Adreno 205 graphics processing unit and 512 MB of memory.

The most recent smartphones are steadily pushing the envelope further by introducing more powerful hardware while integrating more discoveries on the mobile OS. However , the most powerful smartphones could not always be the best of course, since the usefulness of the mobile gadget also should be judged according to the final user experience.
